Updated EUPROMS PowerPoints available in 17 languages
Europa Uomo has launched a new resource in multiple languages to help its member organisations and other groups around Europe raise awareness of the quality of life issues faced by men after treatment for prostate cancer.
A PowerPoint presentation in 17 languages is now available for download from the Europa Uomo website, presenting some key results from its groundbreaking EUPROMS (Europa Uomo Patient Reported Outcome Study) research. It combines the findings of the two EUPROMS studies, which reported in 2020 and 2022.
The presentation provides information on how different prostate cancer treatments affect quality of life in various areas, such as tiredness, mental health, continence and sexual function. This patient reported outcome data provides a “real life” picture of life after prostate cancer treatment.
The information can be used by patients and clinicians to help guide treatment decisions, and by health policy makers to help identify improvements needed in services for men with prostate cancer.
“We have real patient reported outcomes here,” says Europa Uomo Chairman Guenther Carl. “We want them to be used to increase awareness of the parts of the health service that are weak and could be improved – for example, the lack of provision for men who have continence or sexual problems after surgery or radiotherapy.”
“We also want to get over the message that non-invasive approaches should always be considered as the first treatment, to ensure the best quality of life.”
The PowerPoint presentations are available for download in the following languages: Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish.
