General Assembly meets in Milan, 20 years after its foundation in the same city
Europa Uomo has two new full member organisations, representing prostate cancer patients in Slovenia and Switzerland, bringing the total number of members to 28.
The General Assembly in Milan – marking 20 years since Europa Uomo’s legal foundation in the same city – voted to admit the PROSCA group from Switzerland (the second Swiss group) and Društvo uroloških bolnikov Slovenije from Slovenia as full members. Asociace mužů sobě z.s. from Czechia and Ellok from Greece were admitted as associate members.
Claudio Talmelli, President of hosts Europa Uomo Italia Onlus welcomed delegates to the General Assembly: "Today we stand united as a testament to the founders' imagination and our collective commitment."
Also speaking was Marina Hadjimanolis, the Cypriot Deputy Minister of Shipping, an honorary member of Europa Uomo Cyprus, speaking on behalf of the President of Cyprus. She emphasised the importance of raising awareness about prostate cancer. “Let’s continue to work collectively to raise awareness and educate the world about this important cause,” she said.
Europa Uomo's Treasurer, Ioannis Vanezos, presented the Europa Uomo accounts and reported that funders were showing "confidence and trust". The 2023-24 Europa Uomo Annual Report is available for download.
