Automated information assistant is run in association with European urologists
Europa Uomo’s new “chatbot” – an online automated assistant which can answer questions about prostate cancer – has already helped hundreds of people understand the disease and recommended treatments.
The chatbot, visible at the bottom right of every page of the Europa Uomo website, is run in association with the European Association of Urology (EAU). It uses artificial intelligence to search through approved sources of information – most significantly, the EAU’s prostate cancer guidelines – to provide easy-to-understand answers to questions that users type in.
Now that its initial trial period is over, Europa Uomo wants groups supporting men with prostate cancer across the world to start promoting the Chatbot as widely as possible. It is available in 95 languages – always starting with English, but the Chatbot adjusts to whatever language the user types in. It can only be accessed via the Europa Uomo website, but anyone can use it if they are provided with a link to our website.
“This is a new and important way for anyone to get reliable information about prostate cancer in their own language,” says Guenther Carl, Europa Uomo Chairman. “It in no way replaces medical advice, but it can provide valuable information that can help men make important decisions – for example about testing and treatment.”
